30 First Dates Would you go on 30 first dates to find Mr. Right? That either sounds totally fun or completely terrifying. Now imagine taking on a new bucket list item with each of those first dates! That is exactly what Erin Crawford does in Stacey Wiedower’s romantic comedy in her search for the one only Mr. Right.  I just finished reading 30 First Dates and I swear I thought I was reading my own journal.  Erin suddenly realizes she in her “third of a life crisis.”  Like E, I just turned 28 and quite suddenly realized oh crap I’m an…

Graduation Time     Recently I got the privilege of getting to take my friend’s son’s high school graduation pictures. I love doing senior pictures. There is something exciting about saying goodbye to one chapter of your life and getting to start a new one. Being able to capture these young adults during their transition into adulthood is truly a privilege. We had a blast hanging out at the University of the Pacific taking his pictures. We even got to sneak in a couple of family pictures! I had a blast trying to get four little girls to all stay still long…

Life’s not Always Perfect It’s my 28th birthday and I am writing from the bedside of my seven-year-olds hospital bed. Now before I scare you, let me explain. Andrew, my wild child, thought he could take on the stair banister and win. Unfortunately, the score was Andrew 0 and Banister 1. The short story of it is that he had suffered a minor brain injury. Our local ER had him flown over to Valley Children’s Hospital in Madera just to be on the safe side. With the blood and swelling, they felt it would be better for him to be where…

A Day in the Life Most days I start my day off by getting my boys ready and dropped off at school by 7:35 am. Depending on my work schedule I either have to hurry to get ready to be at work by 9:45 am or I have a couple of hours to get some homework or cleaning done before leaving for work. When lucky, I am home by 7 pm on an opening shift day. When I am not so lucky it’s more like 10 pm. My work schedule isn’t set.  A typical shift is from 9:45-6:15,…

Mommy & Me Let me introduce you to this super mommy, Orelia, an NASM Certified Personal Trainer! Health and fitness is a huge part of my dear friend’s life. She takes great pride in not only staying healthy and fit but also in helping others achieve their own health goals. Just like most of us moms, she understands how hard it is to stay fit with littles ones so she started a mommy & me fitness class to cater to busy moms.  Bring the Goldfish Today, I was able to capture some of the ways she includes her own daughter…

Treasures in Spring Cleaning, You Never Know What you Might Find   I know most people don’t exactly love spring cleaning. I might be one of the few that actually do. For me, it’s a chance to start over and get organized. Plus, you never know what you might find!   In the midst of spring cleaning, I stumbled upon a treasure. One more valuable, to me at least, than the crown jewels and yet something money can’t buy. For as long as I can remember I have been fascinated with photos. When I found some old memory cards it…

For the past couple weeks I have been staring at my screen trying to figure out how to start this thing. I kept getting stuck on my introduction. Why did I start a blog? What is there to know about me? I kept writing about being a mom and working in cosmetics. Well, this got me thinking. When did those things become the only parts of me? I love being a mom and I enjoy my job but those aren’t the only things that define me. I am an insatiable adventuress who finds getting lost on the way to the coast exciting because it…
